Today, as part of the TUC and STUC coordinated day of action against the UK Government Strikes (Minimum Service Levels) Bill, over 500,000 workers across the UK will be engaged in strike action.
Martin Whitfield MSP is joining Scottish Labour colleagues in supporting the STUC and trade unionists across Scotland and the rest of the UK on today’s action and the #RightToStrike campaign.
Earlier this week Labour MPs voted against the Tory UK Government’s Bill in the House of Commons and the party has pledged to repeal the legislation if it is passed.
Martin Whitfield MSP said:
“The Tory UK Government’s Strikes Bill is a shameful attack on workers across the UK. I fully support today’s national day of action and the campaign against the legislation and to protect the right to strike. Labour MPs voted against the Bill this week and in government we will repeal it.”
