Smart Energy GB is encouraging energy consumers to explore how a smart meter and the in-home display can help households track and manage their energy use.

New research has shown that 89 per cent of adults with a smart meter find their smart meter in-home display useful, with 38 per cent using it more this winter than last to monitor their gas and electricity use much more closely. This shows that during these difficult times, an upgrade to a smart meter can be more useful than ever.

Smart Energy GB is the national consumer engagement body supporting the smart meter rollout. Smart meters are the next generation of gas and electricity meters being rolled out to consumers across Great Britain, and come with a handy in-home display so you can see how much energy you’re using.

Martin Whitfield MSP said:

“The rising cost of energy has made it imperative that households do all they can to reduce the amount of energy they use.

“A smart meter and the in-home display could help consumers track and manage their energy use and hopefully save on their bills in the long run.

“I’m urging constituents to take a look at Smart Energy GB’s energy saving tips to help people save money on their bills all year round.”
