Martin Whitfield MSP is urging constituents who have an outstanding local councillor in their area to consider nominating them for this year’s Cllr Awards.

Now in their seventh year in Scotland, the LGIU & CCLA Cllr Awards are the only national awards celebrating the vital work of councillors.

Anyone can make a nomination and it only takes a few minutes to submit one. The awards are  completely free of charge, but the deadline is Friday 13 September.

Martin Whitfield MSP said:

“There are many brilliant local councillors across South Scotland who work tirelessly for their area. The LGIU & CCLA Cllr Awards are an opportunity to celebrate these hard-working councillors and all they do for constituents and communities.

“Anyone can submit a nomination, so if there is a dedicated local councillor in your area who you think deserves this recognition, please nominate them now.”
