Martin Whitfield MSP has joined parliamentary colleagues in showing his support for Show Racism the Red Card’s annual Wear Red Day, which is taking place on Friday 18th October 2024.

Ahead of the day, Show Racism the Red Card organised a campaign photocall in parliament for MSPs to join campaigners in demonstrating their support for the day.

Show Racism the Red Card is the UK’s leading anti-racism educational charity. Last year, an incredible 440,000 individuals registered to celebrate with them on Wear Red Day. It was a sign that they have never been more in demand, more needed or more relevant. Every heart and every mind that they change, affects at least one life but has the capacity to transform thousands of others.

On the same weekend Scottish football will once again show its support with all 42 SPFL and 20 SWPL clubs taking part in a show of solidarity with Show Racism the Red Card.

Martin Whitfield MSP said:

“I have always been a supporter of Show Racism the Red Card and its important message that there is no place for racism in either football or wider society. I was pleased to join colleagues in showing my support for Wear Red Day again and hope constituents and communities across South Scotland will also get behind the campaign’s important message.”
