Martin Whitfield MSP has joined East Lothian Foodbank volunteers at Tesco’s Haddington store to support its annual winter food collection.

The 2024 Winter Food Collection ran from 28th-30th November, in partnership with food charities FareShare and Trussell. The collection takes place in stores nationwide with donated goods being redistributed to people who are facing hardship over the winter.
Martin Whitfield MSP said:
“I’ve been supporting East Lothian Foodbank’s collections for a number of years now and never fail to be impressed with the generosity expressed by so many local people.
“While it remains unacceptable that such a large number of households face needing to use foodbanks, it is heart-warming to know that others are ready and willing to reach out and help those in need, especially at this time of the year.
“I want to thank everyone who donated to the collections this year, and indeed who give so generously throughout the year, as well as all the Foodbank volunteers and staff, and Tesco for their important support through these winter collections.”
