Nominations are now open for the Young Scot Awards 2025 and Martin Whitfield MSP is encouraging groups and individuals in East Lothian to nominate a young person who they believe deserves to be recognised this year.

The Young Scot Awards are Scotland’s biggest celebration of young people aged 11-26 that shine a light on those who drive positive change, achieve remarkable accomplishments, and support their communities.

The winners will be unveiled in June, during an energy-packed event hosted by Capital FM DJ Katy J, where they will join a prestigious list of past recipients including former footballer turned elite gamer Kelsie Grieg, comedian Paul Black and actor Martin Compston.

Nominating for the Young Scot Awards, sponsored by sportscotland, is a meaningful way to recognise the achievements of young people who have gone above and beyond. Whether they are making an impact in their community, excelling in the arts, championing equality, or overcoming challenges, their stories deserve to be celebrated.

Mr Whitfield is encouraging schools, community groups and others to help celebrate our amazing young people by sharing this opportunity with friends, family, and networks to ensure every inspirational story is recognised.

Urging people to nominate, Martin Whitfield MSP said:

“Children and young people across East Lothian continue to amaze us with their creativity, resilience, and commitment to making a difference in their community.

“The Young Scot Awards are a unique opportunity to recognise the contribution young people aged 11 to 25 are making and I’m encouraging everyone to take a moment and nominate an outstanding young person from their area.

“Let’s make sure young people from East Lothian are represented at this year’s awards!”
