Commenting in response to this week’s announcement of sweeping changes to bus services run by Lothian Buses and East Coast Buses in East Lothian, Martin Whitfield MSP said:

“I know that many people are seriously concerned about the changes to local bus services announced this week by Lothian Buses. In particular, the significant changes to the 26 and X6 services have been raised with me by several constituents.

“I have arranged a meeting with Lothian Buses to highlight these concerns and the lack of consultation on the changes, as well as to ask about a possible pause or amendments to address the problems they are set to cause.

“I know that community councils and other groups are looking at suggestions for amending the changes and I am keen to hear people’s ideas in the coming days.”
