Martin Whitfield MSP has lodged a motion at Holyrood highlighting the success of Friends of Ormiston Park in being presented with a Green Flag Community Award.
The award follows years of dedicated work by the volunteers who make up the group, which has included securing significant funding for a new children’s play park and the recent installation of East Lothian’s first pump track.
Mr Whitfield’s motion also congratulates those involved in maintaining and running other parks across the South Scotland region that have received a Green Flag Award this year.
Martin Whitfield MSP said:
“This Green Flag Community Award is really well deserved recognition for the dedicated efforts of Friends of Ormiston Park. What they have achieved over recent years is remarkable and has put Ormiston Park on the map as one of the best in East Lothian.
“I congratulate everyone from the group and those who have supported them in the local community, including Ormiston Blooms Together, and at East Lothian Council on achieving the award and look forward to following future developments at the park.”
