Commenting on Harlawhill Day Care Centre’s success at the Scottish Health Awards and his Holyrood motion congratulating them, Martin Whitfield MSP said:

“Fiona and her team have always done their utmost for their service users, including through the incredibly difficult last 18 months. Even when the centre was not able to open they continued to find innovative ways to support older residents in the community and help them through lockdown.

“I’m delighted that the staff and volunteers have been recognised as the Top Team at these prestigious awards and congratulate them on this wonderful success. I have also acknowledged their outstanding achievement with a motion at the Scottish Parliament.”

That the Parliament congratulates all of the staff and volunteers at Harlawhill Day Care Centre on their success in winning the Top Team Award at the 2021 Scottish Health Awards, in recognition of the vital work they undertake in providing a range of support and services for older people in the Prestonpans area; further extends its congratulations to the other category winners at the prestigious awards, organised by The Daily Record, in partnership with NHS Scotland and the Scottish Government, and understands that they are open to organisations and individuals working for NHS Scotland, and its partners, to deliver health and social care services.
