North Berwick’s success in being named the Scotland winner in the Sunday Times’ best places to live in the UK list has been acknowledged in the Scottish Parliament by Martin Whitfield MSP.

Mr Whitfield tabled a motion noting the town’s success in securing the top location in Scotland and what the Sunday Times had to say about it.

Speaking about the motion, Martin Whitfield MSP said:

“I’m absolutely delighted that North Berwick has been named the best place to live in Scotland! I’ve lodged a motion of support in Parliament to highlight the town’s success.

“If anyone is looking for a relaxing getaway in Scotland, visit North Berwick. It’s a truly stunning place and a worthy winner of this title.”

The full motion reads:

That the Parliament notes that North Berwick has been named as the best place to live in Scotland; further notes that North Berwick claimed the title of the top Scottish location in The Sunday Times’ best places to live in the UK list; acknowledges the quote in The Sunday Times, stating that “This handsome seaside resort has plenty of positive energy — it’s no wonder urbanites come here to recharge”; further acknowledges that the town is joined by 10 other beauty spots across the UK, including winners of best places to live in Northern Ireland, London, Wales and more, and encourages those looking for a break to visit North Berwick and enjoy the warm hospitality that it has to offer.
