Commenting on the news that work is now underway on the new railway station for East Linton, Martin Whitfield MSP said:

“I welcome the start of work on the new railway station for East Linton, which is set to bring significant benefits for the village. The project has taken many years to secure and it’s great to see it finally underway.

“I understand there may be some work undertaken at night, but hope there will be minimal disruption for residents and that the completed project will provide an excellent new public transport facility for East Linton.

“Reaching this stage is in large part due to the hard work of rail campaigners RAGES, as well as former MSP Iain Gray and East Lothian Council, which has made a substantial financial commitment to the station project.”

Further details about the station project can be found on the East Linton pages of the Scotland’s Railway web site.
