Ahead of the start of the new season, Martin Whitfield MSP met with club officials at Tranent Juniors F.C. to congratulate them in person on their outstanding success last year.

Mr Whitfield visited Forester’s Park to discuss last season’s fantastic promotion to the Scottish Lowland Football League and the club’s plans for the forthcoming season and beyond, as well as its efforts to encourage health and activity in the wider community.

Speaking after the visit, Martin Whitfield MSP said:

“Tranent Juniors’ outstanding success in securing promotion to the Scottish Lowland League for the first time in the club’s history has generated great excitement and enthusiasm among its supporters and across the town.

“There is a real buzz about the place following their promotion and the potential for building on what they have achieved so far. The players, officials and fans have done Tranent and the rest of East Lothian proud.

“I was pleased to mark the club’s significant achievement in a motion at parliament and to follow that up with this visit to congratulate club officials in person and wish them continued success for the year ahead.”
