Postal workers across the South Scotland region deserve our thanks and support this Postal Workers Day, says Martin Whitfield MSP.

21st December is the annual National Postal Workers Day and this year postal workers across the UK are engaged in a dispute over their pay and conditions, as well as the future of the Royal Mail and its Universal Service Obligation (USO).

Mr Whitfield has pledged his support for posties in his South Scotland region and the rest of the UK and urged constituents to thank their local postie this Christmas.

Martin Whitfield MSP said:

“This National #PostalWorkersDay I say thank you to the dedicated posties working across the South Scotland region for your important work on our behalf.

“Postal workers went above and beyond during the pandemic, as they did before and have done since, despite attacks on the Universal Service Obligation and their terms & conditions. They deserve our support, so please thank your postie this Christmas.”
