The Association of British Insurers have been in contact with me to provide advice and information for constituents  in the South Scotland region who have been affected by flooding.

They say that insurers’ first priority following any flood event is to work with customers, arrange for alternative accommodation where this is required, and get the claims process underway as quickly as possible where flooding has occurred.

They have provided an information graphic which sets out the main steps of the repair process following a flood and what those affected can expect from their insurer if they need to make a claim.

Further information and advice can be found in the ABI’s flooding response guide here.
