The success of three local businesses in this year’s Countryside Alliance Awards has been welcomed by Martin Whitfield MSP.

The Buccleuch Arms, St Boswells, won the Scottish Champion award in the Pub category, while The Station Yard Micropub, Dunbar, won the Highly Commended award in the same category. Humbie Hub was the other local winner, being given the Scottish Champion award for the Village Shop/Post Office category.

All the Scottish Champions will now be invited to attend the Grand Final of the annual Awards which is being held at the House of Lords in May.

Martin Whitfield MSP said:

“South Scotland boasts many excellent businesses and I’m delighted to see three of them recognised at these prestigious awards. They all play a crucial part in their local economies and communities, and I hope this success provides them with some additional publicity and custom.

“I also wish The Buccleuch Arms and Humbie Hub the very best of luck when they go on to represent Scotland in the Grand Final of the competition and hope they can enjoy further success in May.”
