Nominations are now open for this year’s Sunday Mail Young Scot Awards.

Launched in 2006, the Young Scot Awards are the only national awards evening highlighting the contribution of Scotland’s young people.

They have celebrated the inspirational achievements of thousands of young Scots who have made a real difference to their communities.

This year’s event will take on a festival theme. It will feature fantastic entertainment, street food, a red carpet reception and, above all, the stories of amazing young people.

Martin Whitfield MSP is encouraging people to nominate individuals, groups or teams who have made a difference in their areas.

Martin Whitfield MSP said:

“The Young Scot Awards are clearly a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and recognise the most inspiring young people in Scotland. Unquestionably, over the years we have seen incredible young people nominated.

“Former nominees have gone on to reach the top of their chosen careers, whether that be sport, business, entertainment or the arts. Furthermore, hundreds of others are making a lasting difference in communities all over Scotland.

“If you know an individual, group or team aged 11-26 in the South of Scotland who deserves to be recognised, please consider nominating them now and help celebrate their dedication.”

The deadline for nominations is 11.59pm on Monday 10th April 2023.
