Martin Whitfield MSP was joined by Anas Sarwar MSP and Douglas Alexander at today’s Our Community Kitchen fundraising event at Knox Academy in Haddington.

The Indian themed cultural event was organised to raise funds to support the important work of Our Community Kitchen, which helps tackle loneliness and isolation in the Haddington area.

Commenting after the event, Martin Whitfield MSP said:

“I was really delighted to join Anas and Douglas at this brilliant community event for such a worthwhile and important cause. The organisers did a fantastic job putting on such a big and well attended event, but special thanks must go to Shiva and Shanthi for providing such tasty food and the amazing dancers for the entertainment.”
Douglas Alexander said:
“It was a pleasure to join so many other supporters at the event. The charity’s focus on reducing loneliness and social isolation through growing and sharing food and friendship is a vital local service for which we should be grateful. It was great to also welcome Anas along to offer his support to an organisation doing essential and valuable work.”
