This week (19 to 24 June) is Cervical Screening Awareness Week and this year a leading charity is encouraging people to talk about screening during the week.

Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust is highlighting the importance of cervical screening and encouraging attendance at screening appointments. The charity is sharing different experiences, including screening after giving birth, after menopause and after receiving the first invitation.

They are also sharing information, tips, and support on how to make attending screening a little bit easier to help raise attendance rates.

Martin Whitfield MSP said:

“Screening saves lives and can stop cervical cancer before it even starts, but everyone’s experience is different. That’s why Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust is saying #LetsTalkScreening. The charity has a wealth if useful information, support and tips to help make attending screening a little easier.”
