Martin Whitfield MSP has visited local charity North Berwick Beach Wheelchairs at the town’s harbour to catch up on some of its latest developments.

Mr Whitfield met with the charity’s Treasurer, Bryony Capaldi, and other volunteers, as well as speaking to a service user who was visiting the town from England and took the opportunity to be able to access the beach independently for the first time in years.

Speaking afterwards, Martin Whitfield MSP said:

“It was wonderful to visit North Berwick Beach Wheelchairs again and catch up with some of its dedicated team of volunteers, as well as to meet visitors who raved about them and the opportunity the service provides to get back on the beach.

“It is an absolutely amazing personalised service which makes such a huge difference to the lives of the disabled people who are able to visit the beach again using one of the wheelchairs, often for the first time in many years.”
