Martin Whitfeld MSP has joined Cllr Norman Hampshire on a site visit at their Aikengall Wind Farms and BeGreen Energy Advice Centre in Dunbar.

They met the team at the BeGreen Energy Advice Centre in Dunbar to learn more about the advice and support it is giving to the public and local community on energy costs, as well as local events, education and other activities.

They also visited Aikengall in the Lammermuir Hills to see first-hand the significant contribution that the Aikengall and Aikengall II wind farms, which are owned by Community Windpower Ltd, are making to energy generation and tackling climate change.

Martin Whitfield MSP said:

“I welcomed the opportunity to find out more about the services offered by the team at the BeGreen Energy Advice Centre in Dunbar. They are undertaking important work advising and supporting local people with their energy costs and the cost-of-living crisis.

“It was also good to see the Community Windpower site at Aikengall and learn more about the contributions they are making, both to power generation and the local community. Windpower has been a vital contributor to our energy needs for many years and will continue to be a crucial part of renewables going forward.”
