Pubs across South Scotland are involved in supporting and encouraging all kinds of activities in their local communities, whether it’s by hosting events, sponsorship or organising their own teams.

These pubs that do great work at uniting local communities have the chance to be honoured by PubAid’s Community Pub Hero Awards (supported by Matthew Clark) in association with the All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group.

These annual awards are now open with nominations closing on Friday 19th January. Pubs or pub goers can nominate pubs along with a reason why they deserve to win in one of the five categories.

Martin Whitfield MSP said:

“Many of us know what great work pubs do in the community to bring people together, whether that’s over a drink, meal, through events for Halloween or Christmas or through sport.

“It would be fantastic if we could get some pubs from South Scotland shortlisted in these high profile national awards and help raise awareness of the great work they do for our communities.”
