A National Championship win by Haddington Athletic FC’s Youth Section Autistic and Neurodiverse team has been marked at the Scottish Parliament by Martin Whitfield MSP.
The team won the championship on Sunday 17th March at the Falkirk Stadium, after winning four out of five games, with the fifth a draw. It was only the second tournament the team had entered.
Mr Whitfield’s motion helps mark and celebrate the team’s success and congratulates the players, coaches, parents and everyone else involved in the Youth Section on their win.
Martin Whitfield MSP said:
“I was delighted to hear about the team’s success at the National Championship in Falkirk and decided to help mark the win with a motion in the Scottish Parliament.
“It’s wonderful to see football teams and other sports clubs being as inclusive as possible, particularly with young people, and I know that the players and coaches in Haddington’s Autistic and Neurodiverse team have got a huge amount out of their participation.
“Well done to all of the players, coaches and their families and supporters and I wish them continued future success.”
