Martin Whitfield MSP has met with representatives of the Scottish Youth Parliament at Holyrood to discuss its latest campaigns.

The new national campaigns that Members of the Scottish Youth Parliament have voted to select as their priorities for the next two years are:

  • Increase mental health training and education.
  • Invest in and protect youth work services.
  • End gender-based violence.

Martin Whitfield MSP said:

“It was great to catch up with some MSYPs at Holyrood this week, and hear about their recent and future campaigns. They do amazing work representing the voice of young people and ensuring their priorities are on the political agenda.

“With the Scottish Youth Parliament also celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, it is more critical than ever that we engage with MSYPs to help ensure that Scotland’s young people are fully involved in  decision making.”
