September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month and Martin Whitfield MSP is supporting a new campaign to shine a light on the realities of what blood cancer takes from those affected, and what it takes to beat it.
Charity Blood Cancer UK has launched the new campaign, “We Know What It Takes”, because more people need its support than are currently receiving it.
The campaign will support the charity’s mission to bring forward the day when no one dies of blood cancer or its treatments through funding research and supporting those affected by the fifth most common cancer and the third biggest cancer killer in the UK.
Martin Whitfield MSP said:Â
“Behind every statistic is a person living with blood cancer.  It takes listening to those with lived experience to understand the challenges and to shape better care.
“This #BloodCancerAwarenessMonth, I’m proud to stand with Blood Cancer UK and those affected and call for urgent action.”
