Martin Whitfield MSP joined volunteers at the unveiling of the Community Connections Memory Collage at North Berwick Library.
In 2024, the charity, which works to combat social isolation and loneliness in the North Berwick Coastal area, commenced a year-long legacy project to create an incredible memory collage with people in the community through a series of workshops.
The finished collage is more than a creative display – it’s a symbol of togetherness, understanding, and the healing power of shared memory, conversation and connection. It was on display in North Berwick Phone Booths on North Berwick High Street at the start of summer and has now found a new home in North Berwick Library.

“Community Connections is doing wonderful work on supporting those experiencing social isolation and loneliness in the North Berwick Coastal area and I was delighted to be invited to join the charity at the official unveiling of its amazing memory collage.
“It’s clear that a tremendous amount of careful thought and dedicated work has gone into the project and I commend everyone who participated in it on the final outcome.”
