Meeting with Greek Ambassador and Metlen representatives

Martin Whitfield MSP and Douglas Alexander MP have met with the Greek Ambassador to the UK and representatives of Metlen Energy & Metals, an industrial and energy company which is currently working on the Eastern Green Link 1 (EGL1) project which entered the FTSE 100 this week. The meeting was initiated by the Ambassador, His Excellency Yannis Tsaousis, and provided the opportunity for Metlen to highlight its role in the delivery of major renewable energy and other infrastructure power projects in the UK, including East Lothian. Martin visits award-winning Papple Steading

Martin Whitfield MSP has joined Douglas Alexander MP on a visit to Papple Steading to meet with the management team and look around the near complete restoration of this famous old steading near Garvald. The politicians were greeted by the director George Mackintosh and Verity Sinclair, the manager at Papple. Scottish Youth Parliament manifesto

Martin Whitfield MSP has met with representatives of the Scottish Youth Parliament to discuss its manifesto for 2026-2031. The youth parliament representatives were exhibiting the manifesto at Holyrood to speak to MSPs and staff about the manifesto, "Dear Scotland's Future" and its key objectives for improving the lives of young people in Scotland. Comment on new Scottish Secretary appointment

Supporting Blood Cancer Awareness Month

September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month and Martin Whitfield MSP is supporting a new campaign to shine a light on the realities of what blood cancer takes from those affected, and what it takes to beat it. Comment on future of Torness site
