Scottish Youth Parliament manifesto

Martin Whitfield MSP has met with representatives of the Scottish Youth Parliament to discuss its manifesto for 2026-2031. The youth parliament representatives were exhibiting the manifesto at Holyrood to speak to MSPs and staff about the manifesto, "Dear Scotland's Future" and its key objectives for improving the lives of young people in Scotland. Comment on new Scottish Secretary appointment

Commenting on the appointment of Douglas Alexander MP as the new Secretary of State for Scotland, Martin Whitfield MSP said:  “Douglas’s appointment as Secretary of State for Scotland is an honour for him and for East Lothian. Supporting Blood Cancer Awareness Month

September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month and Martin Whitfield MSP is supporting a new campaign to shine a light on the realities of what blood cancer takes from those affected, and what it takes to beat it. Comment on future of Torness site

Motion praises park for Green Flag success

Martin Whitfield MSP has tabled a motion at Holyrood commending Friends of Ormiston Park and other groups in Ormiston following Ormiston Park receiving the Green Flag Community Award for 2025/26.
