Ahead of a debate on Scotland's culture sector, Martin Whitfield MSP has pledged his support for the nation's musicians and the future of live music. Wear it Pink day

Friday 20 October is Wear it Pink Day, the annual campaign fundraising day organised by Breast Cancer Now. Every year in Scotland around 4800 women and 30 men are diagnosed with breast cancer. That is around 94 people a week. Breast Cancer Now is the breast cancer research and support charity. It wants to improve the lives of people affected by breast cancer in Scotland and across the UK. Martin Whitfield MSP has joined Cllr Shamin Akhtar in praising Tranent Day Care Centre following a recent visit to the facility. The visitors met members of the centre’s staff team and chatted to some of its service users about what it means to them and their daily lives. Support with TV interference

The Restore TV programme is informing communities that mobile services are being upgraded and that this could cause TV interference for some households. While upgrading mobile services provide improved speed, performance and coverage for local residents and businesses via tablets and mobile phones, because these new mobile signals were previously used by TV services received through an aerial – such as Freeview, BT, TalkTalk and YouView – there is a small chance that anyone using these services may notice new interference. Supporting armed forces children

Martin Whitfield MSP has attended a parliamentary reception showcasing the work of a charity that supports children and young people from armed forces and veteran families. As well as providing support with issues such as mental health and wellbeing, education and financial support, Forces Children Scotland also seeks to ensure that the voices of children and young people in forces families are heard by decision-makers. Martin Whitfeld MSP has joined Cllr Norman Hampshire on a site visit at their Aikengall Wind Farms and BeGreen Energy Advice Centre in Dunbar.
